Impulse Freek - SITO - Collaborative ArtIf you like collabrative art,
this one is for you!

Ok… What can i say, was just doing a little exporing with the search term “collaborative art online” and found some kewl stuff…. so i needed to share the following piece from a site that has a frightfully harsh front end, reminiscent of an 80’s design, the main site was a bit garish, but the function made me look deeper and found, Impulse Freak, and thought it was visually interesting… the paradigm worked for me, and thought i would share it even though the site encapsulating it was a but rough.

This is an example interfaceThere are several kewl pieces and all came from the idea for each piece is a grid where artists can get a segment to add. The final piece is an amalgamation of the 9 panels, and each piece is added to a larger [ flash piece ] that ends up making up yet still a larger final piece. Anyone can add to these pieces… pretty kewl if yah ask me.

This is an image from a collabroative art project online. It is an interesting result for some, others are reminiscent of Second Life SIMs for me, a bunch of people, all with differing goals can make a big grid of hodge-podge mess… some of these works, work because they are affected by inputs from adjacent grids… not sure about the whole of the result, and even if there is activity anymore… but was interested in the attempt because it had some merit – yet the interface is seriously lacking.

Drawings of the David Fisher Design of the Dubai TowerAgain Dubai is leading world in the new art of building innovation!

This has got to be the most wild design i have ever seen… a building that will be constantly in motion. These designs were released on Tuesday and look really wild. All i gottah say is that i will definately need to spend one night there.

Its all pretty kewl… Dynamic Building in Dubai & Moscow Individual floors will be manufactured off-site as pre-fab units; they’ll then be strapped, one by one, to a central core that will house the building’s engineering systems. Both towers will generate their own electricity with wind turbines fitted beneath each floor. Hard. Core. The Dubai building will host 80 floors’ worth of mixed-use space; the top 10 floors will be occupied by luxury “villas” with private pools, parking— and the ability to rotate the entire floor to capture the sweeping vista of their choosing. The Moscow plan (pictured above) is still in its “conceptual phase,” though the building is likely to include 70 units’ worth of offices, residential and retail space.

In all practicality, these buildings will make the occupants motion sick when the building floor changes direction, but it will be wild to see how they deal with that. It is hard to believe that this is not a paramount concern for this design, and something tells me, they have a solution.

Sample Site Relationship GraphPresidential Watch 08 website has a very interesting map of the relationship of a bunch of politcal bLog websites, and shows ALL of their relationship to eachother in the bLog-o-Sphere map. CLICK HERE to view.

It is would have been nice to be able to rotate and move nodes in the flash chart, that takes a while to load. Very, very kewl way to represent relationships, between sites. It wold be nice to be able to zoom in more easily as well… anyway – reminiscent of the GraphViz application ( see: 2007-02-08 ). In the meantime enjoy the idea.
