MoMA Acquires “@” Symbol.
September 16th, 2010
Original post by: Cliff Kuang – Mon Mar 22, 2010 – What can I say, it seems MoMa in it’s infinite wisdom has added this historical symbol to it’s halls. Pretty interesting how simple things we see, and use each and every day, have a very rich a diverse history. See: http://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2010/03/22/at-moma/
The only reason I decided to post this, is that in my opinion, it is a pretty interesting story about how a symbol/word can have a long, interesting, and diverse history. Design has many of these kinds of jewels of intricacy that make for interesting design, this is one of them. Some things in design are formed from things as simple as the need to relate a simple singular relationship. The “at” symbol does that. Every-time you see this word, you know what it means. It has several uses in the modern age, and now takes on a greater role in all of our lives. So when you see this symbol again, maybe you will not take it for granted, how much language/symbols affect/permeate our everyday life. Enjoy.

Color Theory Diagram
September 9th, 2010
Thought I would share this little ditty. Always was an Ansel Adam’s Zone Theory, and primarily a Black & White system for talking about lightness and darkness in an image. So color for me has always been a bit of mystery. A mystery that always seems to show it’s face when I see how others seem to experience color. Understanding basic theory of how color’s relate is important to me right now, and a fascinating process too. Found this chart, and thought it was informative, as well as a pretty simple design that goes a bit deeper into the relationships.
Interesting Green Promo
September 7th, 2010
An old friend shared me this one on Facebook, and thought it was an interesting piece of “green advertising.” Always been drawn to, and thought provoking design that can actually change the world… and I thought I should say that I am interested in knowing how this would be deemed to work successfully – financially – actively. But definately like this theme and green feel for the whole look and feel – liked it enough to post it here for your review.
