Color Theory Diagram

ColorTheory Screen White 300x194 Color Theory DiagramThought I would share this little ditty.  Always was an Ansel Adam’s Zone , and primarily a Black & White system for talking about and darkness in an image.  So for me has always been a bit of .  A that always seems to show it’s face when I see how others seem to experience color.  Understanding of how color’s relate is important to me right now, and a fascinating process too.  Found this chart, and thought it was informative, as well as a pretty simple that goes a bit deeper into the .

Using Biology to Make Better Animations (2008) Torsten Reil

tedlogo Using Biology to Make Better Animations (2008) Torsten ReilFor years I have heard about special algorithms that were used to understand how the flow could effect blood cells through a mechanical valve using a NASA formula for analyzing air flow through a jet engine. Even the crash sequences in the pod races of were completely based on a virtual crash formula that was 100% computer driven, and there are many other examples of this concept. It is the obvious evolution in 3d animation. Instead of a two day that was the result of interpretation of what would happen in a particular case, these formula actually allow for the computer to do much of “tweaking.”

Now at TED, gives a remarkable talk was given about how characters move in games, and how to make more lifelike using … mimicking the human spinal cord and using evolutionary learning algorithms… it is very idea.

Revisiting Site Relational Graphs

politicalblogosphere 150x150 Revisiting Site Relational GraphsPresidential Watch 08 website has a very interesting of the relationship of a bunch of politcal bLog websites, and shows ALL of their relationship to eachother in the bLog-o-Sphere . CLICK HERE to view.

It is would have been nice to be able to rotate and move nodes in the chart, that takes a while to load. Very, very kewl way to represent , between sites. It wold be nice to be able to zoom in more easily as well… anyway – reminiscent of the GraphViz ( see: 2007-02-08 ). In the meantime enjoy the idea.

Here is a thought…

all form is a function of a need and the aesthetic quality of a piece, while keeping to some pretty basic cognitive rules of perception. ok… here i will have to admit i was a psychology major, who almost went for his PhD in drug … then well… decided to do what i do with these days… but i am amazed every day that these “rules” seem to “ring true” to the soul/theme of any particular piece of . I really wannah get into this more, and you will see where I am going with this when i get back to compiling snips for a compendium of basic principles – will say it is like going back to school, just slowly compiling from the most basic concepts, to the more complex… its been extremely educational and a blast to explore these concepts… kindah pathetic, but it is my music, my kid, and my conscious life because I love it and think it is really keen… (heh)

oh, and here i gottah also say that no designer should design only in one medium – it limits the exposure to thinking about the use of things that usually don’t go together in ways that nobody else may have thought of, and make it work for any particular project/task/design.

now you are like: “What-EVER!” – but i live design… and have VERY opinionated opinions – question is: can you take the time to consider the possibilities that could be endless?
