SITO - Collaborative Art - Impulse Freak
If you like collabrative art,
this one is for you!
Ok… What can i say, was just doing a little exporing with the search term “collaborative art online” and found some kewl stuff…. so i needed to share the following piece from a site that has a frightfully harsh front end, reminiscent of an 80’s design, the main site was a bit garish, but the function made me look deeper and found, Impulse Freak, and thought it was visually interesting… the paradigm worked for me, and thought i would share it even though the site encapsulating it was a but rough.
There are several kewl pieces and all came from the idea for each piece is a grid where artists can get a segment to add. The final piece is an amalgamation of the 9 panels, and each piece is added to a larger [ flash piece ] that ends up making up yet still a larger final piece. Anyone can add to these pieces… pretty kewl if yah ask me.
It is an interesting result for some, others are reminiscent of Second Life SIMs for me, a bunch of people, all with differing goals can make a big grid of hodge-podge mess… some of these works, work because they are affected by inputs from adjacent grids… not sure about the whole of the result, and even if there is activity anymore… but was interested in the attempt because it had some merit - yet the interface is seriously lacking.
